Passover is a time to celebrate freedom. It is so necessary to remember the value of freedom every day because of the ease with which it can slip away. Freedom is not a vaccum, it is a very solid and defined way of living. It is focus, faith, family and determination. Determination to be free from slavery, both foreign and domestic. Foreign slavery is imposed by others, but there's also home grown slavery, one that's self imposed.
We walk around each and every day with freedom dangling right before our eyes. The sun is shining, the friends are there, the family is well, the Torah books are on the shelf. Feeling down is, sometimes, nearly entirely self imposed.
This Passover let us remember the value of being free, free to be happy, connect with our family and friends, be happy with what we have, and connect with God and his Torah.
